An XXL (2XL) shirt fits a body chest of about 46 to 48 inches (117 to 122 cm). An XXXL (3XL) fits about 48 to 50 inches (122 to 127 cm), and a 4XL about 50 to 52 inches. The shirt itself measures 2 to 6 inches more, depending on brand and fit, so always compare garment chest.

Notice the spread: an XXXL from Mufti (48 in) is smaller than an XXL from Uniqlo (53.5 in). The label tells you little. The garment chest tells you almost everything.
How to choose between XXL and XXXL
- Measure your body chest at the fullest point, under the arms. See how to measure shirt size.
- Add ease. For a regular fit you want the garment 4 to 6 inches larger than your chest; for a slim fit, 3 to 4.
- Check the stomach, not only the chest. If buttons pull below the chest, size up or choose a regular rather than slim fit.
- Check length. Larger sizes often add length too; a curved hem that sits at mid-seat works tucked or untucked.
XXXL shirt size in inches
XXXL fits a body chest of about 48 to 50 inches. Across the brands above, the shirt measures 48 to 56.7 inches around the chest. Slim-fit 3XLs run closest to the body; relaxed and regular fits give more room.
mtsya sizes and what to do if you need larger
To be plain: mtsya's largest size is XXL, which fits a 47¾ in (121 cm) body chest and measures 51½ in (131 cm) across the garment. That is roomier than several brands' XXXL, so if your chest is up to about 48 inches it may suit you. Compare it with a shirt you own: lay it flat, measure armpit to armpit and double it. If you need more than 51½ inches of garment chest, mtsya does not yet make your size, and a brand that lists XXXL or 4XL with a larger measured chest will serve you better. Is XXL the same as 2XL?
Yes. XXL and 2XL are the same size, as are XXXL and 3XL. Some brands use one name, some the other.
What is the difference between XXL and XXXL?
Usually about 2 inches of chest, roughly 5 cm. At The Souled Store, for example, XXL fits a 46 inch chest and XXXL a 48 inch chest. Length and shoulder also grow a little.
