Geru

Geru — the red earth the water leaves.

A checked shirt in Indian Oxford, yarn-dyed on the loom. A muddy red-oxide ground — the colour of geru pigment and old oxide floors — under an even cream grid. Dusty and chalky rather than bright, and the warmest cloth in the range.

The Oxford basketweave gives the cloth a fine pebbled surface and enough body to hold a collar. Soft point collar, clean placket, single-button cuffs, curved hem. Tonal red-oxide buttons. The Matsya fish is stitched small at the left chest in warm cream thread.
