How to read a shirt size chart
A garment chest is the shirt itself, measured across the chest just below the armholes and doubled. A body chest is you, measured round the fullest part of your chest with the tape level. A comfortable regular-fit shirt is usually about 4 in bigger than the body it fits. Shoulder is seam to seam across the back. If you sit between two sizes, the smaller one looks neater and the larger one is easier to move in.
